Prof. Suresh Senan
Professor, Radiation Oncology,
Amsterdam University Medical Center, Cancer Center Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Amsterdam University Medical Center, Cancer Center Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Professor Suresh Senan is a radiation oncologist at the Amsterdam University Medical Centers in The Netherlands. He graduated from the National University of Singapore and trained there in internal medicine before moving to the Beatson Oncology Center in Glasgow for his training in clinical oncology.
His research work has focused on stereotactic radiotherapy, treatment of oligometastases, MR-guided adaptive radiotherapy and combined use of systemic agents with lung radiotherapy. He is a faculty member for Chest Tumors at the European Society for Medical Oncology, and faculty of the ESTRO Image-guided SBRT course. He is active in the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), ASCO and ASTRO. Professor Senan is the recipient of awards from Dutch lung cancer patients (2005), the Heine H. Hansen Award by ESMO and IASLC (2016) and the IASLC James D. Cox Lectureship Award for Radiation Oncology (2025).

Prof. Mischa Hoogeman is Head of Medical Physics at HollandPTC and of the Department of Radiotherapy at Erasmus MC. He is also the Chair of Research & Education at HollandPTC. Since 2017 he has been appointed professor of High-Precision and Adaptive Radiotherapy at Erasmus University Rotterdam, and since 2019 he holds a similar position at Delft University of Technology. In 2020, he was appointed Medical Delta Professor. The overarching goal of his research is to broaden the therapeutic window through the development, implementation and evaluation of high-precision adaptive radiotherapy techniques. Research is being conducted in photon and proton radiotherapy. With respect to proton therapy, his interests lie in probabilistic treatment planning, online adaptive proton therapy, and ultra-high dose rate proton therapy for FLASH. For photon therapy, his interests lie in high-precision and (online) adaptive stereotactic treatments.
Prof. Mischa Hoogeman studied experimental physics at the University of Amsterdam. He continued his education as Ph.D. student at the Institute for Atomic and Molecular Physics (Amolf) studying atomic-scale dynamics of crystalline surfaces with variable-temperature scanning tunnelling microscopy. He obtained his Ph.D. in 1998 at Leiden University. After a Postdoc at the NKI-AVL, Prof. Mischa Hoogeman received his Medical Physics training at the NKI-AVL and Erasmus MC.
